Q: How do I start Cheat Monitor?
A: You can start the program from Start->Programs ->CheatMonitor (Shortcut). This Shortcut can be deleted in 'settings' when you are familiar with the application and are ready to begin surveillance. Once you have deleted the Shortcut, other options for starting CheatMonitor are still available. The program can be set to run at startup and it will start every time the computer is rebooted and will begin the key logger and screen captures.
If you want to start the application manually, you can browse to:
'C:\Program Files\Common Files\cheatmonitor' on the computer OR with the windows start menu, click Start -> Run (then type or paste c:\progra~1\common~1\cheatmonitor\cheatmonitor.exe into the run text area)

Q: How do I send reports by email?
A: In the settings tab, fill in the values for:
'Email Report Frequency' (This will set how often you would like to receive reports) If you are capturing screencaps frequently, you may want to make this send emails more often (so you don't exceed byte size limits on the mail server).
'Send Reports To Email:' this is the email address reports will be sent to.
'Email Server Type:' Set this to smtp [your ISP's outgoing mail server] or to gmail [you can use your gmail account to send your reports]. If you choose gmail, you will need to enable authentication (check ''Email Authentication Required' and fill in the correct values for 'Gmail Address' and 'Password' if your ISP's SMTP server requires authentication, ensure that the correct values are set for 'SMTP username' and 'Password'

Q: Why do you not put little ****s on the password fields in the application?
A: To ensure you type the correct passwords! Password entry errors can cause the mail server to fail, the application to become irretrievable and your surveillance efforts to be destroyed. Some believe it is a good idea to make new accounts just for your surveillance effort. Free email accounts are after all, free.

Q: What exactly is 'Run Hidden At Startup'?
A: When 'Run Hidden At Startup' is checked, the Cheat Monitor application starts in hidden mode, no window appears, and it does not appear in the start bar or windows applications list. The program is now 'Hidden'. Once you have become familiar with the application and have made all relevant settings, the application should be set to 'Run At Windows Startup' _AND_ 'Run Hidden At Startup' This will begin covert surveillance on the target computer.

Q: If I check 'Run Hidden At Startup', but I want to check in and view the application, how do I 'un-hide' it?
A: While the application is running, you can type your Cheat Monitor unhide word in _any_ application (e.g. notepad) and the Cheat Monitor will detect your application password. When the unhide word is detected, the Cheat Monitor window will appear.
IMPORTANT: When you select your Cheat Monitor unhide word, ensure that it is not something that will be inadvertently typed on the system under surveillance. Also, due to the way the key buffer is collected and recorded, you may have to type your password a couple of times to successfully show the application. Try a password/unhide word with trailing numbers such as password788888 or foofoo111 as these examples are easy to type quickly, yet unique enough that they are unlikely to be accidentally typed.

Q: How do I uninstall/remove cheatmonitor software?

A: You can run this program to remove the software:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\cmx1\remove.exe"
